Is 一覧 really just a normal list?

so my book says 一覧 is just "list" but then i saw it on a site and it looked more like a giant table? why not just use リスト. i was looking up something about 領事 visas online and boom there it was. now im confused if i can use it for my grocery list or does that sound write? hole on, do people use it for like music playlists too? my phone screen is cracked so typing this is painful but yeah is textbook lieing to me agai
