Handwriting Speed: Kanji vs Kana Trade-offs

I tracked my speed during a mock lecture. Writing out complex kanji for official terms slowed me down significantly compared to kana. However, after reviewing my notes, the kana-heavy sections took twice as long to read because I lost the visual context of the radicals. I've found that using kanji for the core nouns and kana for long compounds is the most efficient balance for quick writing.
