forgetting vocab instantly

idk how those youtube influencers claim they memorize 50 words a day. i look at a basic word, try to learn its shape or whatever, and it's gone in five minutes. feels like my brain is in permanent mourning for the memory cells i'm losing. is there an actual way to make stuff stick or do i just lack the 'special genius' genes these 6-month fluency gurus apparently have? srs is just a direct ticket to burnout.
