how to drill 小隊 without dying of boredom (is this use even right?)

wait is 小隊 just for army stuff? i've been trying to drill this word by labelling my friend group as a 小隊 in my head to make it fun but idk if that's stupid. like can i say 'my squad' when we go to get ramen or is it only for like actual tanks and soldiers? i'm trying not to die of boredom with anki but i feel like i'm drilling a word i can't even use lol
