Early on, I often rushed my speech, causing me to shorten long vowels and completely change the meaning of simple words. I once confused a serious emergency with a mundane activity just by missing a beat. My lesson from this is that clarity in Japanese relies heavily on timing. Now, I focus on the rhythm of each mora rather than trying to speak quickly. Precision is the foundation of being understood.
