are making points and creating the same thing?

so im trying to say i scored points in a video game but google translate is giving me words like creation and administration? is scoring points the same as administering a school grade or making a corridor? wait is a corridor just one side of a room? im so confused because all these words look like they mean the exact same thing but they also don't? sorry if this is a dumb question but idk how to say i made a point.
