why does 仮面 always ruin my anki streaks

just reset my core deck for the 4th time this year and guess what card instantly killed me? 仮面. i always mix up the か with some other random kanji like 複雑 or just stare at it blankly. is it a mask? is it a face? honestly who cares at this point. my brain just refuses to retain it and i want to throw my phone. why do i even bother trying to learn this.
