Managing words with multiple definitions

I've been hitting a wall lately with words that change completely depending on the industry or context. Like one minute it's about a bank transfer and the next it's a specific legal term. I try to learn the core image of the word first but sometimes that doesn't help when the definitions are just so far apart. How do you guys manage this without getting overwhelmed, I feel like I'm always second-guessing my reading.
