how to connect grammar without it sounding weird?

wait so if i want to connect two grammar patterns like 'want to' and 'because' do i conjugate both verbs or does the second one like, eat the first one's tense? idk if that makes sense. like when i try to speak i just stack them together but it sounds so wrong. do the particles change when you link them? sorry if this is basic im just so confused on how real people chain things together
