why does 伏 look so much like 休 or am i blind

ok wait so I was doing kanji reviews and 伏 popped up and i literally stared at it for two minutes thinking it was 休... wait is that a dog next to the person in 伏?? is this a dumb question or why do they look so identical when im skimming fast. i keep reading 伏 as rest or body or something else entirely and now im paranoid im mixing up like 5 different kanji at once idk
