wait is 分泌 a bad thing?

ok so i was reading this game text about like... 毒 or whatever and i saw 分泌 and my brain immediately melted. because wait isn't 分 like minutes or dividing?? and now there's liquid coming out??? wait is this a dumb question but is it always about gross body things like sweat or poison? i feel like i'm reading it completely wrong and now i'm too scared to look it up because what if it's actually super basic idk help
