saw 多額 on a site and now im so confused

so i was reading this thing about some law 法律 stuff online and saw 多額 and thought it meant like many octopus? because of tako?? but then there talking about cash and it makes no cents. litrally thought it was some ocean thing lol. anyway now i cant stop thinking about sugar 砂糖 because my coffee is bitter. do people actually use 多額 or is it just for fancy news? phone keeps correcting it to tiger lol
