how do you drill 指標 without actually dying of boredom

trying to drill 指標 right now and omg i am so bored i might actually pass out. i tried making up this weird mnemonic with an evil (邪悪?) warrior pointing at a cabin (小屋) to make it fun but now i forgot what the actual kanji even mean. wait is this dumb but do people even say 指標 in real life? like is it actually common or am i suffering for no reason lol. i cant do any more flashcards today idk
