Kanji vs kana for fast notes

People claim writing kanji is faster for taking quick notes. Yeah right. Kana takes fifty years to spell out one word. Kanji takes five minutes because I forget how to write it halfway through. My notes look like garbage either way. Nothing actually makes writing in this language easier.
