Moving from grammar drills to speaking

I spend a lot of time doing grammar drills and I'm pretty good at solving the puzzles in my textbook. The problem is when I actually try to talk during my day everything just vanishes. It feels like I'm inventing a new language every time I open my mouth. I want to be able to say sentences one after another without stopping to think so much. maybe I just need to practice with more daily habits.
