do we even need particles in real life?

okay so i think someone told me that in real conversations in japan nobody actually uses particles? like you can just skip them entirely if you talk fast? idk is this dumb lol. also maybe if you use them you sound like a dad or something? wait also my friend said learning japanese literally rewires your brain to make you better at math, is that actually true?? im so lost maybe im doing this all wrong
