textbooks lying about 本年 is ruining my tracking

Currently at hour 742 of my 1200-hour Phase 2 sprint, and I just hit 本年. Genki claims it just means 'this year' but my spreadsheet analysis shows a 92% correlation with formal business contexts only. If you use this in casual conversation, it’s a massive efficiency 損失. Textbooks need to stop giving incomplete 1-to-1 mappings. It completely threw off my daily SRS metrics.
