Keeping similar words straight

I am having a blast learning but some of these words are so similar that I keep mixing them up. It’s like I learn one and then the other one just pushes it out of my head! Do you guys have any fun tricks for this? I’ve been trying to draw little pictures but im not sure if that is the best way. I really want to stop confusing them before it becomes a habit.
