how do you guys drill 借 without losing your mind lol

ok so i HAVE to drill 借 (borrow right? or is it lend??) and flashcards are literally killing me. i tried making this game where i pretend im in a 洞窟 (cave?? why did i learn that word first lol) and i have to 借 a shovel from a goblin. but then i got totally 夢中 playing the game and forgot to actually study the kanji. wait what was my question again? oh yeah how do you drill things without dying of boredom
