how do u actually learn from screwing up

Okay so i was trying to look at the EAST kanji or wait was it telescope? anyway i always mix up my vocab like storing things in the ocean floor or whatever lol. but actually how do you guys stop making the same mistakes over and over?? like i write them down but then i forget where i stored the notebook. literally lost it yesterday under my bed. wait what was i saying about telescopes? oh right, looking at the bright
